1. INTRODUCTION
The two Charities, Smith’s Cirencester Charity and the Cirencester Vicar and Churchwardens’ Charity, have operated in the town of Cirencester for more than 100 years, established to provide relief of need, either individually or generally, for persons resident either within the town or within a radius of 5 miles from Cirencester Parish Church thus includes the villages of the Ampneys (but not Down Ampney), Barnsley, Baunton, North and South Cerney, Coates, Daglingworth, Driffield, the Duntisbournes, Ewen, Harnhill, Kemble, Perrotts Brook, Preston, Sapperton, Shorncote, Siddington, Stratton, and Tarlton but excludes Colesbourne, Cricklade, Fairford, Northleach, Poulton, Stroud and Tetbury. The Trustees currently receive applications from various local organisations but wish to increase awareness amongst the local community of the existence of the Charities.
2. APPLICANTS
The Trustees will consider applications either on behalf of individuals or on behalf of organisations which support local people in need.

For individual applications, please download the Application Form from this website (which can be found at the top of this web page) and send it with a covering email to SmithsandVCC@outlook.com.
For Applications for Groups, please send an initial email to SmithsandVCC@outlook.com summarising details of the proposed application.
Applications will be considered at the next available meeting of the Trustees. Meetings take place quarterly and are usually held in January, April, July and October. In exceptional circumstances the Trustees will accept emergency grant applications.
5. AMOUNT OF GRANT
The normal maximum grant is £1,000 at the absolute discretion of the Trustees.
The Trustees will not usually fund an entire project but will consider match funding.
